Complexity of Academic structures and forms of education, great number of actors (professors, students, graduates, employees), multiple financing sources with different reporting, controlling budgets per departments, integrating academic processes with financial and support ones, multiple projects of fundamental and applicable research, student-university interaction management (scholarships, fees, hostels, canteens, school situation) these are attempts for many management applications from universities.

Besides academic activities, universities can develop other economic activities to be managed according to the company’s rules. EMSYS is a unified solution that treats activities in universities, while providing a detailed and individualized perspective on them.

The complex system of organization’s budgets made up of all budgetary funds. Allocation is made at department level (faculties, departments, research centers, research projects), differentiated on each budget line, in relation with the Purchase Plan approved. Planning expenses is made related to the purchase plan and to budget availability. Budgets are rectified periodically, according to financing sources and organization’s requests, keeping the initial approved budget trasability.

Academic activity is leaded on ECTS – Bologna standards (European Credit Transfer and Accumulation System), school results being measured into a common European modality, in perspective of study programs mobility. Levels of education (license, master, PHL, resident) con be found in the academic activity according to each university specificity. It is necessary to deal education plans to obtain a detailed curricula per disciplines, seminars, practical works, with specific credit numbers. Electronic catalogues for complex types of examinations / revaluation are necessary for improving operational flows.

An important challenge is managing student support management, canteens, scholarships, transport, and other social aids.
Student – university financial interface develops on plenty plans, being necessary the correlation of information and processes within university activity with: fees of scholar and revaluation, accommodation, scholarships, student’s payments, payments to students.

Teachers and students, are involved into applicative or research projects with multiple financing sources. Management of these projects claims the efficient usage of financing resources, tracking projects execution conceiving all PMI and PMT criteria. Using funds allocated to project are periodically reporting: timesheet, progress, purchase, consumption.
